Josh Cluderay

JOSH CLUDERAY

Josh studied film at college and university, attaining the top grades in both, and writing his final dissertation on the early comedies of John Ford (e-mail him if you'd like to read it!). He has been making short films since he was a teenager and the contemporary director he would most love to emulate is Joe Dante.

Josh also writes articles about film, some of which appear on his blog
Don't Hang Around, and is currently researching a book on the history of heist cinema, as well as curating the online edition of the world-renowned
Dancing Henry Alamanac. His other interests include stand-up comedy, Die Hard and writing in the third person.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Radio Teesdale (2009-present)
Voluntary presenter work at this local radio station included presenting a Christmas special in 2010, where I was in complete control of the music and decks. As well as giving me experience of professional radio equipment, this has helped me to sharpen my communication skills.

HMV (2009)
Working here for three months over the busy Christmas period gave me experience working in a high pressure environment while remaining personable and upbeat. I worked on the tills and assisted people on the shop floor by responding to queries and locating stock.

Christian Knowles Productions (Summer 2008)
Promoting comedy shows at the month-long Edinburgh Festival Fringe required excellent communication skills, as I was in almost constant contact with members of the public and had to be comfortable in engaging all types of people in conversation to sell our shows.

BillBailey.co.uk (2006 - 2008)
Bill Bailey is an internationally successful comedian, with a website that must both reflect his personality and provide up to date information for his fans. I provided written content for the website and newsletter, contributed to publicity material and wrote the forward to his songbook.

INTERESTS:

Enthusiastic about film history, particularly classical Hollywood cinema, and am always seeking to learn more on the subject. Deeply interested in comedy: television, radio and stand-up, and try to see live comedy whenever I can.

Spend most of my spare time listening to music, writing and making short films. Also take an interest in the internet and try to keep up with new technologies. Enjoy playing football and its sister sport wally.
